Welcome to Philadelphia!

The Philadelphia SLA chapter welcomes you to Philadelphia with an overview of restaurants, entertainment and other practical resources you may need during your stay here.

Philadelphia, the city of neighborhoods

Philadelphia is sometimes referred to as the city of neighborhoods. The Philadelphia Convention Center is surrounded by Chinatown to the north and Midtown Village to the south. Walk a bit to the southwest across Broad Street and you will come to Rittenhouse Sqaure,  one of the five original green spaces planned by William Penn. Walk to the southeast and you will come to Society Hill,  Independence Mall, and Old City. To the northeast, you will find Northern Liberties. Westbound on the Market-Frankford will take you to University City, the home of Drexel University and the University of Pennsylvania.

Philadelphia is a vibrant city with many wonderful restaurants, cultural events, historical sites and much much more.

We welcome you to our City of Brotherly Love and hope you will find yourselves at home while here for SLA2011!
